{RULES

summary:

  • update your journal with anything you want to post at least once every two weeks.
  • we require you to keep your friends list updated at least once a week, more if possible.
  • don't cross the IC/OOC line.
  • if you are removed for inactivity, you are welcome to reapply! please make sure you have a current post.
  • have fun!



applying:
  • prior to applying please make sure that you check the taken list to determine if your role is available, you may use the dropbox to ask if a member is available for override.

  • applicants should:

    • have a username that reflects the name of your role. underscores, numbers, extra words or letters not in your character's name will not be permitted. nicknames are allowed if your role is widely recognized as the nickname. if you need help finding an open and acceptable username, please check in rename or ask us!

    • make sure that there are no previous communities, mods or friends added to your journal unless you're applying with the person.

    • please make sure that your website links to the adds journal if it links another community instead.

    • please add adds!

    • have a friends only post (that reflects the date you applied) and a screened contact post in your journal.

    • if you're changing the date on an existing friends only post, make sure your journal is not already at or past 2 weeks when applying. it is your responsibility to make sure your journal is current. anyone at or past two weeks is subject to an override as well as risks being removed during the next set of removals.

    • remember to request membership to the main community and sub-communities.

  • upon admittance in the community, you will have 3 days to intro in meets to secure your role.

  • reapplying? make sure to have an update posted in your journal, following the guidelines above and make sure that you post a new intro within three days once you have been added back in.

  • at this time, we do not have a limit on how many times you may reapply once you've been removed for inactivity.


examples and challenges
  • there may only be two challenges per role. this means a max of three total applications during one set of adds for the role.

  • as of now we're only requiring examples when challenged.

  • if challenged, you'll be asked to provide examples. we're looking for at least two forms of examples. they do not have to be for the character you're applying as. we do not require scene examples, only share what you feel comfortable sharing.

  • if you do not provide examples by the time adds are done, your application and any challenging applications will be left until the next set of adds. if the next set of adds are taking place and you still have not provided any examples, your challenger or challengers will be the applications considered, and your application will be deleted.



updating requirements:
  • members are required to update every two weeks to maintain membership. there is no length requirement to your updates, you may post what you want to post in your journal. you may post a meme or a gif, a mix tape, a survey, one of our 100 word challenge prompts, a longer update with several paragraphs. anything you would like!

  • your update can not be backdated for any reason, it must be visible on the friends page. you may not cut off comments two updates in a row as we're a community based on interaction. please do not make a habit of doing it.

  • members that have not updated after two weeks will be subject to removal or override. if your friends list is up to date and an override has not been attempted, you will be given three weeks to update before we remove you.

  • we want a relaxed environment where members are friendly, active and interact with each other. it is not hard to stay active here. always come to us if you need more time, need a hiatus, or have any issues you want to discuss!


activity check:
  • if at any time down the road we feel role hogging has become an issue, we'll post an activity check in meets. only as needed. the post will be left up for at least 5 days so that all members have time to see and comment. this will ensure we know you are logging in, updating your friends list and interacting. we hope this won't be necessary, but we want to make potential members aware, from day one, of everything we're considering.


overrides:
  • members may be overridden if:

    • they did not post an introduction within 3 days of being added to the community, or they did not reply to 75% of the comments to their intro post after one week. if a member happens to post their intro after the initial 3 day period and adds have not been completed, they are still able to stay even if another writer has applied for their role.

    • they are past the two week point of their journal being updated.

    • their friends list is outdated by one week. remember: it is important to keep this updated so that new members can interact with you. we do not want new members having to wait weeks to have everyone add them.

    • they failed to reply back to more than 75% of the comments on their update in their last two updates.

    • they have deleted their journal.

    • they have cleared out their journal.

    • we only pay attention to the above rules about overriding if an override is in question; we will not actively be searching for violations to activity to remove anyone unless another writer or potential new member has asked us about it.



    hiatuses and extensions:

    • may be granted for 2 weeks and no longer than 4 weeks unless otherwise approved by a mod. you will need approval for any hiatus longer than 4 weeks. emergencies happen, and sometimes it is as simple as you need a break from the character but you're not ready to give it up yet. talk to us and we're happy to help in any way we can.

    • hiatuses will be granted at the discretion of the mods. requests for hiatuses can be rejected if we see fit or they're repeatedly asked for by the same member(s). this is to ensure they're not taken advantage of.

    • you can drop us a note if you won't be active for any reason, such as weather, stress, family related emergencies, work issues and so forth. we will keep that in mind and place you on an interactive hiatus to ensure you do not lose your spot!

    • an interactive hiatus will be listed as an extension, giving you more time to update. this means you can comment and interact while coming up with your next update. if you're going through something where you don't want to risk being overriden but still can remain active, we will place your name on this list to let any potential members know you're not able to be replaced.

    • a member listed on the taken list under a hiatus cannot interact while they're on a hiatus. we are not going to police private comments being made in a journal. public comments before you are ready to come off hiatus will end the hiatus. an update in your journal will end the hiatus, and you'll be able to freely interact again.




    violations:

    • do not harass another player, ic or ooc. if you feel you're being harassed or treated unfairly in any way, you can come to us for help resolving the issue. nobody will be removed without hearing both sides. warnings will be issued before a removal is necessary. after being warned, any other complaints about an incident that take place can result in a removal.

    • do not cross the ic/ooc line. if you have to ask another player a question (regarding marriages/children and/or how real life relationships are being played out), please use their screened post or pm box and be respectful. you are not required to write your role married or dating anyone to mirror real life unless you want to, but do not ignore any real life children.

    • we do not currently have a role limit, but please do not take on more than you can keep up with! we love your enthusiasm for joining our community and helping it grow, but make sure you can keep your friends lists up, update on time and still interact a fairly equal amount of time between each of your roles. if you have taken on too many and we're able to notice it, we will ask that you to step back as a role or two.

    • any obvious attempts to troll and harass specific members or the friends page will result in a removal without a discussion.

    • no plagiarizing or stealing. if you take icons from someone, please credit the person. if you want to post what your celebrity did from twitter, make sure that it is obvious where it came from and that it is not your own work.

    • do not use stolen examples or borrow a friend's examples to get in when challenging. if we find out you have done this, your role will be removed.

    • please refrain from interactions with ex-members (this includes intentionally keeping them added, linking them, or commenting them) with the journal that you use here. this is out of respect for the current members or potential applicants that it may discourage from joining or staying. this does not mean you aren't allowed to comment someone in rps to join us if the role is up for override or available, or comment anyone who is applying. it simply means be mindful of the current member; they are the version you should be interacting with. any violations will result in a warning and possible removal.

    • you are not required to delete old comments from your journal that were left by past members unless you want to, and you are not required to remove interests you had with a past member unless you choose to.

    • do not use any sort of stat counters/ip address logging in your journal, you will be warned and then removed if it is left in place.




    everything else:

    • the meets community is for your introduction posts and new community announcements, such as the newest members added to the community, official activities, prompts or rule changes.

    • the blabs community is our random community, you may post anything you would like to say or share here. promote your work, start a conversation, share news that you've heard with the group. this is also a great place to plan group activities, such as game nights or movie nights.

    • the listens community is for any songs you want to share and lyrics you want to post.

    • we ask that you do not ban a member from your journal for more than 24 hours. you may ban them temporarily to end an argument but you must remove the ban the next day. you may block anyone you do not wish to talk to on wire or any other social app as it is optional and you are not required to add anyone to begin with.

    • don't be afraid to talk to us. as a member this is also your community, so please drop any suggestions by the mods journal that you feel would make the community better.

    • because mistakes and typos do happen, please contact us to correct us on anything that you notice! this does not bother us and we appreciate being aware of what needs to be fixed!

    • please note: as with every other celebrity community, we reserve the right to reject anyone for any reason. we will not respond to requests on why you weren't accepted. if you feel like you were missing something in your application you are more than welcome to fix it and reapply!
